The Scottish Aesthetic Conference, organised by Inspired Cosmetic Training, was one of the biggest medical aesthetic meetings Scotland has seen for a long time. It allowed for medical aesthetic professionals from throughout Scotland to meet face to face to update their clinical and business knowledge on the latest information in the field of non-surgical medical aesthetics, network and meet industry exhibitors and see what’s new and be inspired!

Everyone is loving the sessions that have been ranging from business sense to threads to devices. This has been a wonderful edition to the aesthetics calendar and how wonderful that it’s been held here in Scotland”.
The programme was packed with knowledgeable and inspirational speakers such as Dr Kieran Bong, (Essence Medical Cosmetic Clinic) who had the audience hooked when he discussed ‘Rejuvenation of the Midface with Injectables’ and Dr Cormac Convery (Ever Clinic) who covered ‘Delayed Filler Complications – What to do when Things go Pear-Shaped’.
The presentations covered a variety of different topics, from showcasing the latest news, products and techniques in aesthetics, down to practical advice for those running their own businesses. This included Frances Turner Traill (FFT Skin Clinics) who talked the ‘Evolution in Neuromodulators’ and Kris Trinity (Aesthetics Marketing Institute) spilled ‘10 Secrets: How to Double your Sales & Attract High-Spending Clients in 2023’
The morning also saw a set of Lightning Talks with the theme What’s New for 2023. This included Miriam Martinez Callejas (Roseway Labs) discussing ‘Personalised Skin Care’, Dr Victoria Dobbie (Hansbiomed) on ‘The Latest Thread Techniques with MINT™ PDO Threads’ and Dr Caroline Steele (Frown Docs) on ‘The Morpheus8 Movement: An Effective Alternative to Injectables’.
As part of the conference programme there was an interesting panel discussion, this included input from Kevin Freeman-Ferguson (head of service review at Healthcare Improvement Scotland) on what’s new in Scottish regulations, Andrew Rankin (Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners trustee, cosmetic practitioner and nurse independent prescriber) on prescribing failures, Dr Nestor Demothenous on professional support for dentists, doctors and nurses and Dr Alison Wood (programme lead for independent prescribing at Queen Margaret University & honorary nurse, non-medical prescribing, NHS Lothian) on V300 courses.
The conference also included an informative breakout session which focused in getting started in medical aesthetics. Hannah Jackman and Tash Petrie gave an insight into how they started their aesthetic clinics. It was a perfect safe space to ask lots of questions so delegates could learn what they could expect to see in their medical aesthetic journey. “Feeling totally inspired to take a leap into the world of aesthetics” – (Loise Bow, delegate)
Over 30 leading exhibitors attended creating a vibrant exhibitor hall for delegates to find out about the latest product info, explore and expand their industry knowledge.
The next Scottish Aesthetic Conference will be held on the 23rd of March 2024, Glasgow. Set to be another day filled with the latest knowledge updates, pragmatic advice and all-things aesthetics – Not to be missed!
