What does it mean if a filler is high cross linked or low cross linked BDDE filler?
In simple terms it’s a bit like rungs on a ladder linking together strands of hyaluronic acid. The more rungs between the strands of Hyaluronic acid the higher its cross linked and the denser the product will be and more suitable for deeper structures, the low cross-linked products with fewer rungs on the ladder will be less dense and more suitable for softer structures. The newer ranges of filler are more elastic and still as cohesive as the older ranges due to the way the combine the HA strands.
We also refer to G prime of a filler that allows us to recognise how fluid the filler is the higher the G prime the longer it will last.
