What Inspired You to Start In Medical Aesthetics?
When I first entered the world of nursing, particularly as a mental health nurse, my passion was always about helping people feel better from the inside out. After years working in the NHS, I saw a real opportunity in the private sector to make a difference in a new way. Medical aesthetics allows me to use my nursing skills to help people not only feel as good as they look, but also to empower them to age with confidence.
Tell Us About Your Medical Aesthetic Journey?
I began my medical aesthetics journey in 2020 after completing my training with Inspired Cosmetic Training. Shortly after, I was fortunate to secure a role in a well-established medical aesthetics clinic in my hometown of Stirling. This experience truly shaped me as a practitioner, much like my early student nursing career, I was mentored closely, had my competencies signed off, and gradually progressed to treating patients independently.
Since then, I’ve completed my V300 Independent Nurse Prescribing qualification and now run my own clinic space in Falkirk. I’m still part of an incredible team of nurses, which I value highly. Recently, I was honoured to win an award at the Scottish Aesthetic Awards, an amazing recognition of the dedication and hard work I’ve put into my business.
What Has Helped Your Clinic Grow?
The unwavering support I’ve received since day one has been instrumental in my growth. Inspired Cosmetic Training Academy gave me the tools for success early on, which helped me build strong professional relationships and a loyal client base.
What’s The One Piece of Advice You Would Give To Fellow Or Aspiring Entrepreneurs?
If possible, try to gain employment as part of an established clinical team when starting out. As healthcare professionals, collaboration is something we understand well, and it can be invaluable for your growth. Make use of the resources provided during your training, and don’t hesitate to reach out to past or current colleagues for guidance. We’ve all been where you are now, and asking questions is a strength, not a weakness.
