We have put together a list of most commonly asked questions. If you don’t see what you are looking for here, please give us a call on 0141 428 3483/079 6656 1474 or emailcarolyn@inspiredcosmetictraining.com and we will be happy to assist you.

Who can attend our courses?

For our Botox and dermal filler course you have to be a registered nurse, doctor, surgeon or dentist. We require valid up to date UK GDC, GMC or NMC registration to accept you on our course.

What courses do you run?

Why do you offer a combined Botox and Dermal Filler training course when some providers offer separate day courses?

We believe you can adequately receive the training you need on both Botox and Dermal fillers in the one day.
If you do two separate courses, this works out very expensive for you. We only ever train small groups at a time to ensure you get individual attention. Our courses are extremely well structured and run like clockwork where the morning session is classroom based learning covering all the theoretical aspects, marketing, business and the afternoon is all hands on practical. We also follow this up with ongoing mentoring and support.

Who are Inspired Cosmetic Training?

Inspired Cosmetic Training is based at La Belle Forme Clinic and is Scotland’s only Botox and Dermal filler training provider led by a consultant plastic surgeon, Mr Taimur Shoaib. The team is supplemented by Carolyn Fraser, who has spent over 18 years as an Event Manager within the medical field, so you can be assured of a well run course and are in safe hands.

Can I practise after my training?

Provided you reach the standard required at the end of the training course and the trainer is happy with your competence at the end of the course, you will be able to go out and start offering these treatments straight away. Remember we also provide you with ongoing support and mentoring so we are never far away.

Do you provide mentoring and continued support?

We stay with you even after the course; you will have easy access to our trainers for on going advice and support. We also provide refresher training courses and masterclasses throughout the year.

What is the size of your training groups?

We restrict our numbers attending courses to ensure you get individual attention.

Can nurses prescribe Botulinum Toxin Type A?

We would suggest you read the guidelines issued by the NMC.

At present face to face consultation must be provided by a medically qualified person or a nurse prescriber. You may wish to work alongside a prescriber to begin with but we recommend inthe long term you  become a prescriber yourself and undertake the V300 prescriber course and we can give you details of the Universities where you can undertake these courses. We already have nurses undertaking their prescriber course placements with us.

There is a wide range of treatments nurses can offer if you decide not to use Botox to start with, from skin peels to dermal fillers to laser treatments and so on and we can help you with training in all these areas.

What products will I be trained to inject?

We only use the best products to train with and we use the real products.

What will my return be on my investment?

This is all covered in the business and marketing part of the course, and in the masterclasses that we run. The cost of products varies according to the product purchased and the supplier used. Most people charge fees according to market prices and some people are more competitive than others, depending on their particular set ups. You will want to set your prices based on your own criteria, and we discuss this in detail during our foundation course.

Is there any pre-course reading?

On the day of the course we supply you with a training manual with course notes. We recommend you do some prior course reading and we will supply you with some references material with your confirmation letter if you wish.

Should I bring along models to work on?

For your practical session it is best you bring along a model for Botox and Dermal filler treatments. Your tutor will work closely with you delivering these treatments. We recommend bringing your own model as you can see the effect of the treatment over time.

What does the new Healthcare Improvement Scotland law mean for me?

Regulation of independent clinics from April 2016

In April 2016, Healthcare Improvement Scotland started regulating independent clinics in Scotland.

Who is being regulated?

Independent clinics are defined in the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978 as clinics that are not part of a hospital and from which a medical practitioner, dental practitioner, registered nurse, registered midwife or dental care professional (clinical dental technician, dental hygienist, dental nurse, dental technician, dental therapist, orthodontic therapist). provides a service, which is not part of the National Health Service. The term ‘service’ includes consultations, investigations and treatments.

This means that if you are offering botox and aesthetic treatment to patients outwith an NHS setting - you must register.
